Cathode Ray Emulation

Video games are the other other Low Res art form, and I immediately read any story that has to do with old video games. I found this story about cathode ray emulation really interesting. One interesting thing to think about
"The phosphor glow padding a bit of time to "burn off" and leaves more of an afterimage on the human retina compared to an LCD display."
I still use a CRT monitor for a couple of reasons. I have tried what I called a "Cathode Ray Transfer" in these photos. I'm interested in this difference that the CRT "adds" to the photo and how it changes the perception of images.
The other reason is that I like to hold on to old technology as long as possible because I find that it's difficult to replace if you need it for "just one application." Michelle has an LCD monitor on her desktop that we use if we want to watch a 16:9 movie.

Note: The photo at the top is a digital screen capture from a decaying 80s VHS video tape. In the photo my uncle is playing the Atari 400 (probably pac man).

Series: Jury Duty

I did a series of street shots while I was downtown on jury duty. My vistaquest was more interested in glitching out these pedestrians, it probably knows best. I'm going to post these roughly every other photo over the next few days so that my photostream doesn't look like a black hole of glitches. Or so that it looks like it is slowly b3coming a black hole of glitches.
